Dear Friends and Supporters,
It has been a great honor to serve as your voice in the Utah House of Representatives. I have appreciated the opportunity to learn and grow and use my training and skills to develop good policy outcomes for you. I have a firm commitment and sense of responsibility to you and our shared values.
Today, with a focus on protecting our freedoms and ensuring a leaner, more transparent government, I am officially announcing my campaign for re-election.
As an economist and your Representative, I believe government should be small, effective, and strictly accountable. My work is often focused on “the plumbing” of state government—making sure it runs smoothly, costs less, and stays out of your business.
Here are some of the things I will be working on for the 2026 Session:
- Cutting Taxes & Fees: I am leading the effort to repeal the restaurant tax and bring transparency and simplicity to Utah’s vehicle taxes and fees. I am also sponsoring a bill to eliminate emissions testing for vintage vehicles, which is no longer practical to administer.
- Government Efficiency & Oversight: As House Chair of the General Government Appropriations Subcommittee, I am in a unique position to keep an eye on government operational efficiency. I will be working on streamlining state operations, being transparent and fair about the fees you are required to pay, and ensuring we use the same fiscal discipline you use at your kitchen table.
- Accountable Elections & Transparency: I am also sponsoring legislation to decrease the burden on those seeking to gather support for initiatives or referenda. I would also like to have more transparency in the legislative process by allowing legislators to make their sponsor’s handouts more accessible to the public.
- Improving Education Oversight: I will be back again this year with a long-needed bill to clarify the roles of the Legislature and the State Board of Education when it comes to oversight of the public education system.
This campaign is about results. I am running to ensure that Utah remains the best state in the nation by keeping our government small, our taxes low, and our processes transparent.
I Want to Hear From You: Many of my legislative priorities are driven by conversations with constituents. Please let me know what is biggest hurdle your family is facing right now.

Gratefully,
